WhimNote: AI Notes (随心记：AI笔记, “WhimNote”, “we”, “us” or “Company”) provides an AI-powered multimodal note-taking application. This Privacy Policy explains, clearly and specifically, what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It also describes our handling of information received from Google APIs. This Privacy Policy forms part of our Terms of Service.

This Privacy Policy is publicly accessible and requires no login. It is published at https://kuliqi.us/privacy — on kuliqi.us, a verified domain that WhimNote owns and controls. It is linked from our app home page (https://kuliqi.us/), from the Google OAuth consent screen, and from within the WhimNote app, so that you can easily find it. This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the WhimNote application and website.

1. Who we are

WhimNote is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. You can contact us at any time at 54kuliqi@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data we need to provide the app. The free version displays ads through Google AdMob; AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent choices and applicable law. We do not sell your personal data. The categories of data we collect are:

Purchase & subscription data	Product ID, purchase token, transaction ID, subscription status, renewal state and expiry date. Payment card details are handled by Google Play or Apple and are not received by us.	To verify purchases, provide paid features, prevent fraud and manage subscriptions.
Support data	Messages and contact details you send us when you ask for help.	To respond to your questions and requests.

We do not collect government ID numbers, payment card details (payments are handled by the app stores), health data, precise location, or contacts from your device. We do receive limited purchase and subscription records as described above. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the app.

3. How we use data

We use your personal data only to:

• create and manage your account and let you sign in;
• provide the core features: recording, transcription, summarization, image understanding, AI chat and search over your own content;
• store, sync and display your notes on your devices;
• verify and manage subscriptions purchased through Google Play or the App Store;
• show and measure ads in the free version, and honor your consent choices;
• keep the service safe, secure and reliable, including abuse prevention and troubleshooting;
• provide customer support and respond to your requests;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service; and
• communicate with you about the service (for example, important changes).

We do not use your content or Google user data to train, develop or improve generalized AI or machine-learning models, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. The legal bases for processing are, as applicable: performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating a safe service, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Google user data: how we access, use, store and share it

WhimNote is a specific application, and this Privacy Policy is written specifically for it — it is not a template, example or sample policy. This section comprehensively describes how WhimNote accesses, uses, stores and shares Google user data.

How we access Google user data

WhimNote accesses Google user data only when you actively choose “Sign in with Google”. Through the openid, email and profile scopes, Google provides us with your name, email address and profile picture, together with a Google account identifier. We access this data only at sign-in and when your profile is refreshed; we do not access it in the background, and we do not access any other Google data, such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Photos or any other Google Workspace data.

How we use Google user data

• to authenticate you and let you sign in to WhimNote;
• to create, secure and manage your WhimNote account;
• to display your name and profile picture in the app; and
• to associate the notes and recordings in your account with you.

We do not use Google user data for advertising or profiling, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

How we store Google user data

Google user data is stored on our servers, hosted on cloud infrastructure we control. It is protected in transit with TLS/HTTPS and protected at rest by access controls on our systems. It is kept only while your WhimNote account is active, and is deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.

How we share Google user data

We do not sell, rent or trade Google user data, and we never share it for advertising. We share it only: (a) with service providers that host and operate the service on our behalf and are contractually bound to use it only as we instruct; (b) when required by law or to respond to lawful requests; or (c) as part of a merger or acquisition, with prior notice to you.

Limited Use disclosure

WhimNote’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

• We limit our use of Google user data to providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in the app (signing in and accessing your account).
• We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you.
• We never use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, and we do not sell it.
• We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you have given us your affirmative consent, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or for our internal operations.
• We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

How long we keep Google user data

Google account data (name, email address, profile picture and account identifier) is kept only while your WhimNote account is active. If you delete your account, we delete this data within 30 days.

How to revoke access and delete your Google user data

You can revoke WhimNote’s access to your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete your Google user data, you can delete individual notes in the app, delete your WhimNote account in the app, or email 54kuliqi@gmail.com and we will delete the data associated with your account.

5. How we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run WhimNote, and only as needed:

• Sign-in providers — Apple and Google, to authenticate you;
• AI processing providers — used to transcribe audio, summarize text and understand images, which means your submitted content is processed by these providers on our behalf;
• Cloud infrastructure providers — for hosting, storage and backups;
• Google Play Billing and Apple in-app purchases — to process and verify purchases and subscriptions;
• Google AdMob — to show and measure ads in the free version; AdMob may process device information and advertising identifiers under its own policies and your consent choices;
• Analytics/diagnostics providers — to keep the app stable and secure; and
• Legal and safety — with authorities or third parties when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the public.

All service providers are bound to process your data only for the purposes we specify and in line with this Privacy Policy.

6. International transfers

WhimNote uses servers and cloud services that may be located outside your country or region. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take the measures required by applicable law (such as appropriate safeguards and contractual protections) to keep your data protected.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:

• Your content (notes, recordings, transcripts, images) is kept until you delete it or delete your account.
• Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.
• Device & diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period (generally up to 12 months) for security and troubleshooting.
• Purchase and subscription records are kept as needed to provide paid features, resolve billing issues, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting requirements.
• Advertising data processed by Google AdMob is retained according to Google's policies and your consent choices.
• Support and legal records may be kept longer where required by law.
• Backups are overwritten or deleted on a rolling schedule.

8. Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls based on least privilege, authentication, secure storage, logging and auditing, regular backups, and confidentiality obligations for staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the relevant authorities if a breach affecting your data occurs.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• delete your data or close your account;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• withdraw consent at any time; and
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where consent is used for personalized advertising, you can change or withdraw it in the app's ad privacy settings or through the consent form, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at 54kuliqi@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and generally within 30 days. You can also revoke WhimNote’s access to your Google or Apple account at any time in your account’s security settings.

10. How to delete your data

1. In the app, open your profile/account and delete individual notes, or choose “Delete account”.
2. Or email 54kuliqi@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and request deletion.
3. To revoke sign-in access, go to your Google Account “Third-party apps with account access” or your Apple ID settings and remove WhimNote.

After deletion, your content is removed from active systems and deleted from backups on a rolling basis.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it separately in Google Play subscriptions or your App Store subscription settings to stop future charges.

11. Children

WhimNote is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. If we change how WhimNote accesses, uses, stores or shares Google user data, we will notify you (in the app and/or by email) before the change takes effect, and we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly. Where changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of WhimNote after an update means you accept the revised policy.
